VA Form 21-0538 Printable, Fillable in PDF – A document produced by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Form 21-0538, Mandatory Status of Dependents, describes the legal status of dependents of veterans (VA). The primary goal of this document is to gather the information that will be used to assess whether or not veterans are eligible for supplemental payments for their dependents (spouse and/or children) after their service. The most recent version of the form was made available to the public on December 1, 2017. Below is a link to a fillable version of VA Form 21-0538 that is up to date and ready for download and digital filing.
Dependents of soldiers get a greater amount of pay than veterans who are not dependents of warriors. The VA must be informed of any changes in the number of dependents, whether they are fewer or more. In that instance, the VA may periodically send veterans a VA Form 21-0538 to fill out to collect the most up-to-date information possible about their service. The VA Status of Dependents Questionnaire is delivered to military members who meet the following criteria:
- In the event of a service-connected disability, you will be entitled to benefits.
- They will get extra remuneration for their children and/or their spouses.
- Disabled veterans are responsible for notifying the VA of any changes in the number of dependents on their behalf. If the VA has not received any reports of changes over an extended period, the Questionnaire will be issued. The intentional submission of any false claims or proof (as well as the dishonest acceptance of funds to which the veteran is not entitled) may result in a fine or imprisonment for the perpetrator.
